Banque de France and European Central Bank are organising the ninth annual Workshop of the European System of Central Banks (ESCB) Research Cluster on Monetary Economics, on 26-27 March in Paris.

The ninth annual Workshop of the European System of Central Banks (ESCB) Research Cluster on Monetary Economics aims to foster awareness of ongoing policy-relevant studies on monetary economics and to stimulate collaboration across the ESCB. Relevant topics covered covered by the Research Cluster include:

  • The lessons from the recent rise in inflation and the subsequent disinflation
  • Transmission and tools of monetary policy
  • Monetary policy under uncertainty, forecasting and control of inflation
  • Implications of structural change for monetary policy
  • Expectation formation, bounded rationality, and central bank communication
  • International trade, capital flows, exchange rates and monetary policy
  • Interactions of monetary, fiscal and financial regulation policies
