The proportion of securities held by non-residents increased slightly
  • In the second quarter of 2025, the net issues of French debt securities amounted to €100 billion including €61 billion for general government and €16 billion for non-financial corporations.


  • Non-resident investors purchased €93 billion of resident debt securities (almost equal to the amount of the net issues during the quarter) and sold €5 billion of listed resident shares.


  • At the end of June 2025, non-residents held 59.5% of long-term debt securities, after 59.1% at the end of March 2025. This share increased for securities issued by banks (70.6% after 70.1%), and for those issued by non-financial corporations (60.5% after 59.7%).
