Taking part in an IBFI live event or online seminar

IBFI training seminars are free of charge and open to candidates from foreign central banks or supervisory institutions.

For live events, candidates from public institutions can register using the seminar calendar. Applications must be made by the advertised deadline, which is two months in advance for an in-person event in Paris, and two to five days in advance for an online participation (videoconference).

IBFI also provides central bankers and banking supervisors with e-learning courses that feature videos and quizzes. Certificates are granted to successful learners. These courses can be accessed after creating an account.

Practical information for live online events

These events are held on the electronic platforms Webex and Riseup. Participants are sent a link to connect to the training sessions. A certificate of attendance is delivered subject to actual participation in the whole event and, where applicable, to the online signature of the attendance sheet.

The number of participants per institution is not limited for online events.

Practical information for in-person events

These events take place in Paris, at the Banque de France’s headquarters, and generally last from three to five days. The number of places per institution is limited and candidates are selected based on their application (motivation, position held, previous training, etc.).

Participants have to to attend all the training sessions of the event.

Expenses covered for events in Paris

For these events, the Banque de France covers:

  • the training costs
  • lunches and coffee breaks
  • the social event
  • all overnight stays for participants from countries benefiting from the IMF/World Bank HIPC initiative (highly indebted poor countries)
  • half of the overnight stays for participants from LDCs (least developed countries) excluding HIPCs

Participants cover the following costs:

  • all transport costs
  • hotel expenses (except for countries eligible for the payment of overnight stays)
  • evening meals

Cancellations for events held in Paris

In the event of a participant's withdrawal, given the large number of applications, it is imperative to notify us at least 10 days before the date of the event. Last-minute cancellation prevents a candidate from another central bank from  participating.

For participants from countries eligible for full or partial funding of accommodation, hotel cancellation fees in the case of late cancellation will be charged to the institution concerned.
