The Banque de France pays particular attention to the protection of personal data and applies a privacy policy (in French) concerning the protection of the personal data it collects.

The Banque de France manages the www.banque-france.fr website, the purpose of which is the dissemination of information under its public service remit. It complies with the legal and regulatory provisions in force: amended Law No. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 relating to data processing, computer records and civil liberties, as well as the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of 27 April 2016).

The information requested from you on this site is exclusively reserved for the computerised processing of navigation and intended for the administration of the Banque de France and the Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Résolution. Only your email address is recorded when you send us an email message. It is kept for the time it takes to process your mail.

Only the Banque de France has access to your personal information.

You have the right to access this information and, if necessary, to rectify it and object to its recording.  

You may exercise your rights to access, rectify, delete, oppose, limit and port your data by contacting the Banque de France.

Management of relations with third parties

The Banque de France centralises information relating to its relations with third parties

As part of its public service remit and in accordance with the provisions of Articles  L. 142- 10 and L144 - 1 of the Monetary and Financial Code, the Banque de France centralises information relating to its relations with third parties (company directors, banks, partners, Company Services Department contacts).

This information enables the Banque de France to improve its knowledge of the local economy, to maintain local relations in order to carry out its tasks with banks, businesses, consular bodies, local authorities and decentralised government departments, and to disseminate monetary and financial information :

  • Offers of services to the economy.
  • Company ratings and/or manager indicators.
  • Information publicising the Banque de France’s services (direct mailings, invitations, etc.) and, more generally, any communication by the Banque de France.

This centralised information includes the identity and contact details of any person dealing with the Banque de France. In the case of company directors, it also includes the manager indicator and rating of all entities for which they are the legal representative.

The Banque de France complies with the legal and regulatory provisions in force : amended Law No. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 relating to data processing, computer records and civil liberties, and the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (UE) 2016/679 of 27 April 2016).

Only the following may have access to all or part of the centralised information, upon prior request or systematically, depending on their needs:

  • Banque de France and IEDOM staff (Company Services Department, Companies Directorate, Regional Departments).
  • Banque de France Internal Control and Audit Departments.
  • DOCAPOSTE services for the delivery of postal mail.

The information is kept and centralised in this database for five years after the third party has ceased its functions.

You may exercise your rights to access, rectify and delete information, either in person or in writing, in Paris at the Companies Directorate of the Banque de France or, in the regions, at one of the Companies Directorate’s offices or, in the overseas departments, at a branch of the IEDOM, or using the following email address : entreprises@banque-france.fr.

You may also submit a complaint to the CNIL data protection officer.
