The main objective of the National Cashless Payments Committee is to coordinate the implementation of the French national retail payments strategy, in order to foster the development of fast, secure and accessible payment instruments.
The objective of the National Cashless Payments Committee is based on four pillars:
The National Cashless Payments Committee is also in charge of monitoring innovation in the field of retail payment instruments.
Finally, the works of the National Cashless Payments Committee are in line with the European strategy for payments prepared by the Euro Retail Payments Board (ERPB).
The National Cashless Payments Committee is a forum chaired by Banque de France, and vice-chaired by the French Banking Federation and the Association of French Corporate Treasurers.
The National Cashless Payments Committee gathers, on an equal footing, representatives from the supply and demand sides of the market. Representatives from public authorities involved in retail payments matters are also part of the Committee.
