Because climate change affects price stability, growth and inflation, it is essential for central banks to factor the impact of climate risk into monetary policy and their activities.
As part of their mission of maintaining financial stability, the Banque de France and the Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Résolution (ACPR – Prudential Supervision and Resolution Authority) work to gain a better understanding of the exposure of French banks and insurers to climate risk and to ensure they are in a position to deal with this risk.
