L’hôtel de Toulouse: three successive owners


  • Built by François Mansart between 1635 and 1640 for Louis Phélypeaux de La Vrillière
  • Fresco in the gallery painted by François Perrier between 1646 and 1649
  • Residence purchased by the Count of Toulouse in 1713
  • Transformation by architect Robert de Cotte and sculptor Antoine Vassé from 1714 to 1719
  • Residence seized as national property in 1793 and installation of the Imprimerie Nationale.
  • Purchased by the Banque de France in 1808
