Year-over-year growth in the French component of the euro area's M3 monetary aggregate has stabilized at 1.1%
- Year-over-year growth in term deposits with agreed maturity of up to 2 years -which had been negative since January2025-turned positive again in August, driven by a significant base effect (+5.7%, after -0.7% in July; see Table 1); growth in demand deposits was virtually zero (0.1% after 1.4% in June), while the outstanding balance of money market fund shares continued to decline
- In August 2026, year-over-year growth in the French component of the euro area's M3 monetary aggregate stood at 1.1%, down from 1.2% in July (see Table 1).
- Annual growth in loans from monetary financial institutions to the domestic private sector rose in August to 2.5% (up from 2.1% in July; see Table 2), still driven by loans to nonfinancial corporations (3.8%, up from 3.5% in July)
