Published on 28th of July 2026
On a year-on-year basis, the French component of euro area M3 rose by 1.6% in June 2026
- In June 2026, the year-on-year growth in the French component of euro area M3 reached 1.6%, after 0.8% in May (see Table 1).
- In terms of composition of the money supply, the year-on-year decline in outstanding term deposits with a maturity of up to two years was less pronounced than in previous months (-1.1% in June, after -6.9% in May and -8.7% in April; see Table 1), while the growth rates of overnight deposits and savings accounts edged down slightly in June, to 1.4% after 1.9% in May and 0.8% after 1.2%, respectively.
- The annual growth of credit to the resident private sector edged down in June to 2.0% (after 2.5% in May; see Table 2), due to slower growth in securities purchases by monetary financial institutions (1.8% after 2.4% in May), but it remained supported by the dynamism of loans to non-financial corporations (3.8% after 3.9% in May).
