Non-resident holding rate of French securities slightly decreased in 2021
- At the end of December 2021, the non-resident holding rate of securities issued by French residents was 48 % (against 49 % in 2020 and 50 % in 2019).
- In 2021, the non-resident holding rate of long-term debt decreased for securities issued by general government (from 49 % at the end of 2020 to 47 % at the end of 2021) and non-financial corporations (from 59 % to 58 %) while it increased for securities issued by banks (from 64 % to 67 %).
- The share of France in the euro area gross issues stabilized at 30 % at the end of 2021.
