Bulletin No. 261, article 5. According to statistics for 2024, the use of innovative means of payment such as instant credit transfers and mobile payments is now firmly established in France. The preferred means of cashless payment of individuals is still the card, as it successfully integrated innovations to adapt to new needs. Payment digitalisation is more developed in France than in other European countries, even if certain specificities, such as the use of cheques, persist, albeit marginally.
