Foster supplier partnerships

Enhance supplier relationships

Suppliers are integral to our performance, so establishing close, special relationships is essential.

The importance we confer on our supplier relationships is reflected in our tracking of their services, and notably our assessment of their performance in terms of:

  • Complying with commitments with regard to quality/cost/deadlines/safety/CSR
  • Maintaining a relationship of trust that respects ethical and professional standards
  • Remaining particularly vigilant with regard to meeting payment deadlines.

Harness market innovation

Procurement plays a key role in contributing to our innovation approach by:

  • Facilitating experimentation
  • Promoting contractual agreements with innovative companies
  • Opening up to new solutions
  • Promoting VSE and SME access to public procurement

Purchase responsibly

Define procurement strategies consistent with our responsible procurement policy

Complying with the requirements of the Banque de France's SPASER (Scheme for the Promotion of Socially and Environmentally Responsible Procurement).

Identifying the CSR issues at stake in meeting a particular need,  and adjusting and drafting the tender documents accordingly by including requirements, provisions and selection criteria.

Ensure legal and ethical compliance

This refers in particular to:

  • Compliance with the principles of transparency and professional ethics set out in the French Public Procurement Code: transparency of procedures; equal treatment of applicants; and freedom of access to tender procedures
  • The publication on the internet of the Banque de France's SPASER within the framework of the social and solidarity sector, which commits to adopting a more responsible procurement approach

The Banque de France is committed to upholding its ethical principles and its values and aims to be exemplary in both its internal and external practices. It applies its values and CSR policy at every step of its processes.

Expand Eurosystem joint procurement

Promote the Banque de France’s position and develop the share of purchases made jointly with other central banks

Strengthening the Banque de France's strategic position within the Eurosystem is key.

Like all Banque de France directorates involved in European initiatives, the Procurement Directorate, through its extensive participation in joint procurement, has a duty to promote the strategic decisions of the Banque de France when purchases are made jointly with national central banks.

This aspect of the General Procurement Policy is monitored directly by the Banque de France’s governing body.
