The aim of this seminar is to present the work in progress and the latest initiatives of central banks and supervisors in integrating climate and nature issues into their activities (monetary policy, prudential supervision, internal management). On the one hand, to improve the resilience of financial systems to climate and natural risks and, on the other, to contribute to the energy transition and facilitate its financing. In particular, it will detail some of the work of the NGFS (Network for the Greening of the Financial System).

Content

Contributions will be made by experts from the Banque de France, other central banks and international organisations. The seminar will cover the following topics
•    International context (work of the NGFS)
•    Theoretical approach (physical risk and transition risk)
•    Application to different central banking activities (monetary policy, banking supervision, internal management)
•    Use of a serious game for interactive sequences

Participants

This seminar is primarily aimed at staff from central banks and supervisory authorities with an interest in climate and nature-related issues. Participants are invited to take an active part: contribute to a survey, take part in a serious game, chat with the speakers and evaluate the seminar.

•    Only staff of public bodies (central bank, ministry, national statistics office, etc.) may register for IBFI seminars;
