Nathalie Aufauvre

Nathalie Aufauvre is a graduate of Sciences Po Paris and holds a Masters degree in economics. She joined the Banque de France in 1984.

After holding various management roles in the Markets Directorate and then the Monetary Policy Directorate, in 2002 she became Deputy Director of Market Operations in the Directorate General Operations. In 2006 she was appointed Director of Finance and General Control, and in 2012 she became Secretary General of the Banque de France.

In October 2017, she was appointed Director General Financial Stability and Operations. She has a number of international responsibilities as part of this role: she is a member of the FSB’s Standing Committee on Assessment of Vulnerabilities (SCAV), a member of the Committee on the Global Financial System (CGFS) and a member of the BIS Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS). Nathalie Aufauvre is also a member of the Steering Committee of the NGFS, which was launched in

January 2018, and has been Chairman of the Banque de France’s Climate Change Centre since April 2021. She was appointed Secretary General of the ACPR in January 2023.
