Financial accounts

National financial accounts describe economic agents' investment and borrowing behaviour, the use of financial savings and the means of funding investment and consumption.

  •  The quarterly financial accounts describe the cyclical developments in terms of investment and financing, by emphasising the transactions conducted by households, non-financial corporations, general government and insurance companies. The annual financial accounts highlight the developments over the past year, in particular in the general framework of the national accounts drawn up by INSEE.
  • The analysis of households' financial savings shows the breakdown of their investment between different types of financial instrument (life insurance, mutual funds, shares, overnight deposits, deposits with agreed maturity) and, depending on the type of presentation used, according to the degree of liquidity, the level of risk, etc.
