New challenges: Crossing perspectives from Law, Economics and Finance

The Banque de France and the Paris Center for Law and Economics (University of Panthéon-Assas) invite you to participate in a seminar, organized with the University of Panthéon-Assas (Center for Law and Economics) on Decentralized finance and "Commons": How to reconcile innovation and monetary and financial stability?, in Paris, on December 12, 2022 from 3 :00 pm to 5:30 pm.

Decentralized Finance (DEFI) is changing the financial landscape. What are the consequences on market infrastructures, financial actors, the transmission of monetary policy? Does the concept of "Commons" introduced by Elinor Ostrom, winner of the 2009 Nobel Prize in Economics, offer a relevant framework for analysis, allowing innovation to develop in a renewed regulatory framework?

Three experts on the subject will share their thoughts:

•          Bruno Deffains, University Professor in Economics; CRED, Panthéon-Assas University;

•          Marina Teller, University Professor in Private Law, CREDEG, University of Nice;

•          Anne Maréchal, Lawyer, Partner, De Gaulle Fleurance.

Organizers: C. Arnaud (Banque de France), O. de Bandt (Banque de France), B. Deffains (CRED, Université Panthéon-Assas)
