Workshop on competitiveness and current account imbalances

The Banque de France organized, Monday 19th June in Paris, a one day workshop on “competitiveness and current account imbalances”. The conference brought together about 40 researchers working in different central banks of the Eurosystem. The program included eight presentations based on ongoing research focusing on (1) competitiveness and export performance, (2) determinants of productivity, and (3) current account imbalances. This workshop was also the occasion to discuss about new research and future collaborations between the researchers involved in the second research cluster of the Eurosystem (The Research Cluster for International Macroeconomics, Fiscal Policy, Labour Economics, Competitiveness and EMU Governance), which was created in January 2017.
