France's balance of payments
The balance of payments provides an overview of the economic transactions between the residents (financial institutions, companies, households and general government) of an economy and nonresidents (the rest of the world).
The international investment position is a stock-based statistical statement, compiled at a specified date, reflecting the financial assets and liabilities of an economy vis-à-vis the rest of the world.
France's balance of payments is compiled by the Banque de France; the balance of payments of the euro area is compiled by the European Central Bank.
- the current account: goods, services, income and current transfers,
- the capital account,
- the financial account: direct investment, portfolio investment and other investment (deposits and loans).
